About This Release
The limited-edition color 2LP gatefold version of "The Sea Of Emotion" is pressed on transparent neon yellow and transparent turquoise vinyl, featuring 10 tracks across four sides.
With "The Sea Of Emotion," Joe Satriani and Steve Vai release their first full-length collaborative studio album as SatchVai. The record blends Satriani’s melodic, song-oriented style with Vai’s expressive, experimental approach, making the very differences between the two musicians the heart of the collaboration.
Joe Satriani: “The biggest surprise was that we write in completely different ways, and that’s what made the project so fun and interesting.”
Tracks such as "Mayhem," "Bronco Freight Train," "Dancing," and "I Wanna Play My Guitar" (featuring Glenn Hughes) sit alongside the three-part title suite, showcasing the album’s diverse facets—ranging from straightforward rock to more open, instrumental passages.
