''Alright, Still'' is the debut album by British pop singer-songwriter Lily Allen, released on 14 July 2006 by EMI (see 2006 in music). Recording the album began with sessions between Allen and production duo Future Cut, and Allen's work garnered publicity on the Internet as she posted demos to her MySpace account before they were officially released. The songs are heavily influenced by Jamaican ska music, and their lyrics are conversational and farcical.

The album was released to generally positive reviews among music critics. It was commercially successful in the United Kingdom, having been certified 3× platinum. If loose lips sink ships, the H.M.S. Lily is one cannonball away from permanent residence in Davy Jones' Locker. Don't get us wrong: Being candid is generally a good thing, or at the very least a good way to separate yourself from politically correct automatons masquerading as pop stars. But when you use your soapbox to eviscerate pretty much the entire U.K. pop scene, well, your peers may be licking their chops at any sign of weakness. And while Lily hasn't descended to Amy Winehouse levels of implosion, her self-pitying MySpace tract "fat, ugly and sh*tter than winehouse" wasn't exactly met with overwhelming compassion (she also takes time to call out gossip blogs on the authenticity of their posts, about a fruitless an endeavor as one can imagine). And it sucks, because "Smile" was rightfully ubiquitous the first part of the year, and the remainder of this touted debut easily superseded her earlier demos. She's earned the right to talk the talk, but we much prefer Lily walking the walk.
